QELA Negotiation Workshop
Negotiate with confidence: Practical skills for QELA members
Dates: Wednesday ,15th April and Wednesday, 22nd April 2026
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Negotiation is a core skill in Planning and Environment practice—but it’s rarely taught in a way that allows you to genuinely practise. This workshop bridges that gap, combining clear theory with supported, hands-on experience to leave you better prepared for real negotiations.
This hands-on workshop held over 2 sessions is designed to give early-to-mid-career practitioners meaningful, supported opportunities to try negotiating, build confidence and refine their approach in realistic scenarios.
Purposefully designed to offer you:
- A strong grounding in negotiation theory, presented by Daniel Gore KC and Steve Adams, P&E ADR Registrar, including:
- Interest-based negotiation
- Power, strategy and preparation
- Managing difficult conversations
- Practical negotiation exercises based on real-world disputes, involving both individual exercises and team work
- Opportunities to step into the negotiation room, not just observe it
- Guided feedback from experienced practitioners
- A safe, collegial environment to experiment, reflect and improve
- Networking opportunities with industry leaders and peers
Don’t miss this opportunity to hone your skills and master the art of negotiation with industry leaders.
These workshops are recommended for:
- Lawyers with 3–5 years’ post-admission experience;
