Event Registrations - Terms & Conditions

Introduce a Non-Member - Complimentary Seminar Registrations

Each seminar will have 'Introduce a Non Member' ticket option providing a total of 5 complimentary registrations. 

When members are purchasing their own ticket for the seminar, they may purchase one complimentary registration for a friend / colleague who is a non-member. 

  • Members may utilise the complimentary registration option for multiple events, however the non-member guest must be a different individual.
  • A maximum of five (5) complimentary non-member registrations will be made available at each seminar event.
  • Allocation of the five (5) complimentary registrations is based on “first in, first served” approach via the QELA website registration page for that particular event. 
  • For the purposes of this policy, “non member” refers to a person who has never been a financial member of QELA or who has not held financial membership for three (3) or more years.
  • This is only available for standard seminar events and excludes Christmas and Welcome functions.   
  • Where a seminar has limited additional seating capacity for complimentary non-members, this offer will not be made available. 

Bring a (Non-Member) Friend - Member Drinks Registration

Members may purchase one ‘bring a (non-member) friend’ registration for a non-member individual for $22 when they are purchasing their own registration to the same Member Drinks event. Subject to availability.

  • Members may utilise the Bring a (Non-Member) Friend registration option for multiple Member Drinks events, however the non-member guest must be a different individual at each event. 
  • For the purposes of this policy, “non member” refers to a person who has never been a financial member of QELA or who has not held financial membership for three (3) or more years.

 

Registration, Cancellation and Refunds

 

QELA Standard Events Seminars, Member Drinks, Early Career Networking Nights, Biennial Dinner, Christmas and Welcome functions. 
QELA Large Events Annual Conference, Regional Intensive, and Expert Witness Workshop.

 

1. Registration

Registration is via the QELA website only or through request in writing to info@qela.com.au.

Registration closing date for standard events is 24 hours prior to the event start time. 

Registration closing date for large events is 7 days prior to the event start time. 

Payment of registration fees is required at the time of registration, online or by telephone. All registration fees are inclusive of GST. A tax invoice will be generated and issued by email after registration for an event.

Each registration is for one attendee only, unless specifically listed as a 'shared registration'.

 

2. Transferring Registration

Event registration is transferable to a substitute attendee prior to registration close, without penalty.  Any request for the transfer of registration is to be submitted in writing to info@qela.com.au 24 hours prior to the commencement of the relevant event. 

Transfer is not available for the Expert Witness Workshop.

 

3.Cancellation and Refunds

For standard events

Registration may be cancelled and a refund issued, without penalty, up to seven days prior to the commencement date of the event.

Cancellations received within seven days of an event but prior to the registration closing date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration fee. Registration is transferable to a substitute attendee or alternate event (in accordance with section 2 above).

Cancellations received after the registration closing date will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the registration fee, however registration is transferable to a substitute attendee (in accordance with section 2 above).

Attendees who fail to attend an event without prior notification will forego the entire registration fee.

Cancellation and refund requests due to exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden illness or injury), will be considered. Such requests should be forwarded in writing, as soon as practicable, to info@qela.com.au

 

For large events

  • If you cancel 2 months prior to the event commencement date, you will be refunded your total fees less an administration cancellation fee of $99.
  • If you cancel 1 month prior to the event commencement date, you will be refunded 50% of your total fees.
  • If you cancel 1 week prior to the event commencement date, you will be refunded 75% of your total fees.

Attendees who fail to attend an event without prior notification will forego the entire registration fee.

Registration is transferable to a substitute attendee (in accordance with section 2 above).

4. General 

QELA will use every effort to maintain the integrity of event programming, however QELA reserves the right to amend event programs and substitute presenters and/or topics where necessary.

QELA reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event to an alternative date. All registered attendees affected by such a change will be contacted by email and offered the opportunity to transfer to the next available event or receive a full refund.

Refunds for payments made by credit card will be refunded back to the credit card used to make the initial purchase. Refunds for payments made by Cheque or EFT will be refunded by EFT.
