Human rights and the Queensland resources industry –
challenges and opportunities
A panel of three esteemed Queensland legal practitioners will provide insight into the challenges and opportunities that arise for the resources industry as a result of the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld).
The seminar will consist of a brief overview of the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld) and a discussion of the Act and those rights that may be relevant to administrative decisions relating to resource industry approvals including environmental and cultural rights. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.

- Julia O’Connor, Barrister presenting on relevant decisions affecting the resources industry that are relevant to the requirements under the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld)
- Elizabeth Harvey, Senior Associate at Hopgood Ganim will provide insight into cultural rights considerations
