CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
Turn The Tide
For the past few decades humanity has been on a trajectory that has seen an increase in extreme weather events, a decline in species type and numbers, property damage and population displacement, as well as a rise in the cost of living and a global pandemic. The rise and fall of these matters is putting increasing pressure on both the environment and those that inhabit it, us! It appears what we have done in the past is either no longer acceptable or no longer works in its current form, and it’s time to turn the tide.
In 2023, we look to determine what steps can be taken to make change, create momentum and establish optimism in order to preserve the environment and our way of life for future generations, as well as find a healthy balance between rapid technological progress and sustainable development.
Governments, both internationally and at all levels here in Australia are creating roadmaps to seek new initiatives to combat climate change, life post-pandemic, and the various factors that contribute to adverse impacts on the environment and social fabric of our society, such as housing and living costs.
The 2023 conference looks to identify and dissect the changes to policy, technology, development, and the way we do things in order to forge a new and positive path for the future.
We hope to discuss whether this change will be revolutionary, what alternatives we can seek out to further facilitate success, and if it will be enough to set us up on a sturdy path to ride this inevitable wave of change.

In addition to these efforts, QELA aims to carbon offset the attendance of each person who attends the 2023 QELA Conference.
Offsetting will be conducted via Greenfleet, using their recommendations for cost per person. For more information about Greenfleet and their projects, https://www.greenfleet.com.au/
