The 2023 Regional Intensive is heading to Stanthorpe!
The 2023 QELA Regional Intensive is heading to Stanthorpe for a one-day intensive to be held at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism (QCWT), on Friday, 27 October 2023. The program will commence with a welcome function on the evening of Thursday 26, October and conclude with lunch at the Warwick Rodeo on the way back to Brisbane on Saturday, 28th October.
The Regional Intensive has a genuine regional focus, with session content coordinated by both regional and metro-based QELA members and predominantly regional speakers.
Sessions will explore local land management and planning issues unique to the region, tourism and its impacts as well as a local government session covering the unique challenges and complexities of the region.
The program will include a Court update and the day will conclude with a tour led by the Southern Downs Regional Council. There will be something for everyone in this year’s program whilst maintaining a highly topical, regional focus.
Delegates will have ample opportunity to network during the program. It will all start with the bus trip! On Thursday afternoon we will be collected from Roma Street Station in Brisbane and travel via coach to Stanthorpe.
Thursday evening will kick off with a Welcome Function at Balancing Heart Vineyard where guests will enjoy drinks and pizza overlooking the vines.
Friday’s networking opportunities include breakfast, lunch and tea breaks during the intensive and will finish with a Regional Intensive Dinner at the Granite Belt Brewery Restaurant where delegates can catch-up as they enjoy a beer tasting and dinner.
On the way back to Brisbane on Saturday, we’re stopping for lunch at Australia’s Most Famous Warwick Rodeo! Guests will enjoy lunch and drinks overlooking the arena before heading back to Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.
The QELA Regional Intensive is a smaller event than our annual Conference, providing delegates greater opportunity to engage with speakers and develop professional connections with members residing and practicing in regional Queensland.
Prices exclude GST. GST will be added during the purchase process.
The cost of registration includes return transfers via coach from Brisbane to Stanthorpe, welcome function, Regional Intensive conference sessions, all catering on Friday and lunch at the Warwick Rodeo on Saturday.
Tickets do not include accommodation or breakfast Saturday morning.

8.00am - 5.00pm
Registration opens at 7.45am. Barista coffee and stand up breakfast will be served.
Friday, 27 October 2023 - Dinner at Granite Belt Brewery
5.30pm – 9.30pm
At the conclusion of the day program, delegates will make their way to the Granite Belt Brewery for a beer tasting tour followed by a sit down dinner.
Saturday 28 October 2023 - Lunch at the Warwick Rodeo
9.30am - 4.30pm
The group will depart Stanthorpe for the Warwick Rodeo where lunch and drinks will be served overlooking the arena from 11am. At 2pm the group will depart the rodeo and make the trip back to Brisbane. Drop off will be Roma Street station.
Please note: Breakfast is included on Friday but not on Saturday.

The 2023 Regional Intensive is being held in Stanthorpe.
All 2023 Regional Intensive tickets include return transfers from Brisbane to Stanthorpe. The bus will depart Brisbane at 1:30pm on Thursday 26th October 2023 and return Saturday 28th October, departing at 9:30am via the Warwick Rodeo for lunch. Bus will depart Warwick at 2:00pm and arrrive back in Brisbane at approximatly 4.30pm.
