THEME
WOULDN’T IT BE NICE…?

As the global economy continues to soften and governments look for ways to encourage investment and development in a capital constrained world, the focus inevitably falls on regulation. That is, how to make it better, more efficient, less complicated etc...

Planning and environment regulation has gone uphill and down dale over the years in search of refinement and dare we say it... perfection. The Queensland government no doubt has its own vision of how a better, perhaps even perfect, planning and environment regulatory regime should look. We are now seeing its pursuit of reform on a regular basis.

‘Wouldn’t it be nice...?’ poses the question: what are the features of an excellent planning and environment regulatory system? And ‘excellent’ from whose perspective?

PROGRAM
The program covers nine sessions over three days, including the poolside Holding Redlich Welcome Barbeque on Wednesday evening and the GROUNDWORK plus cocktail dinner on Thursday night.
Topics include planning reform, an examination of planning schemes, energy and resources, the natural and built environment, transport, infrastructure and major projects, and much more.
